About Samithi

Sri Ramakrishna Seva Samithi, Bapatla was established in the year 1970. It was founded with the inspiration of the monks of the Ramakrishna Order.  Continues to work upholding the ideal given by Swami Vivekananda – ‘Atmano mokshartham jagaddhitayacha’ – ‘For the liberation of oneself and for the welfare of the world!’.

In our organization all the activities are carried out by volunteers and there are no paid workers. We have a few volunteers who will assist the children in their home work and in their preparation for the examinations as well. Important activities of our organization:

  • Helping the needy children.
  • Publication of books at subsidized prices.
  • Conducting prayer meetings and spiritual retreats.
  • Daily Moral classes and bhajan

Everyday at least 50 children both boys and girls attend the Samithi. Everyday we provide them with healthy nutritional food in the evening. We also supply them notebooks and other educational materials as required. We are taking care of the examination fees for some children as well.

Golden Jubilee Vivekananda Bhavan

Our Samithi, with a view to expanding the activities of children and youth, ventured into constructing a new building named Golden Jubilee Vivekananda Bhavan in a site close to the main premises of the samithi. The building consisted of a auditorium and other halls for yoga practice, training in soft skills and a gymnasium. Revered Swami Divyanandaji Maharaj, Senior Trustee, Ramakrishna Math and Mission laid the foundation stone for the building on 24 June, 2016 in the presence of Rev. Swami Shashikanthanandaji Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Vijayawada.

The auditorium is named after Sri BSR Anjaneyulu garu, the founder of the samithi.

Most Revered Swami Divyanandaji Maharaj, Senior Trustee, Ramakrishna Math & Mission and Secretary, Saradapitha, Belur Math, Kolkata inaugurated the Golden Jubilee Vivekananda Bhavan constructed by our samithi on 1 Jan 2020. Volunteers consistently contributed significant labor, readily assisting with tasks such as unloading bricks and tiles, and sieving sand whenever required, etc.

The Samithi owns a 14-cent property located two blocks from its current location. The building on this property comprises a 35′ x 55′ auditorium with a 20-foot ceiling height and several classrooms occupying a combined area of 30′ x 55′ across two floors. The total built-up area of the building is 4000 square feet

Sarada Puri

Saradapuri is a village reconstructed by our Samithi in collaboration with Ramakrishna Mission after the severe cyclone of 19 Nov, 1977. One hundred houses were built along with a cyclone shelter and a Poleramma temple. All the houses are still standing and are occupied.

Samithi takes up the maintenance of the Temple and it is regularly painted and repaired. Every year ‘Tirunallu’ (kolupulu) is organized by the organizing committee of the temple. Here are some images.
